Balance

Travel blogging is great, don’t get me wrong; but, it can take a lot out of you in the moment and distracts from the happenings around you. So how to find the balance between writing down the experiences and actually experiencing them?

The dictionary definition of balance is to establish equal or appropriate proportions of elements.

Balance is needed in everyday dealings. You try to balance your school work with your hobbies, your work with your home life, your alone time with your social interactions. Most of the time, you're balancing all of these at once. I have never felt the need for balance more than when I’m traveling. When I started this blog, my intent was to post every other day about the various places and activities I did in those two days; however, I am now home from Ireland and have not posted once. Balancing the amount of time I spent blogging vs. the amount of time I spent exploring this beautiful country has been completely unequal. On the one hand, I regret not blogging throughout because it means it won't be real time for my readers, and I was not able to keep you all updated on the trip. On the other hand, I have come to realize that not blogging was the best decision I could have made. You see, I have been able to spend quality time with my friends here and got to see so much in the time I've had here. Blogging would have deprived me of having a good many deep talks with my gals, and our friendships would not have grown the way they have. I wouldn't have been able to see the morning bustle of the towns, or the nighttime excitement. Though I am sorry for not living up to my promises to you all, I am glad I chose not to blog during the trip: my experience was much richer. Not to worry though! I have a page long list of what I will blog about after the trip is over! You will still learn of my adventures, my wonderings, travel tips for Ireland, and suggested itineraries. Instead of trying to squeeze in a description of the beauty of the Cliffs of Moher during a short bus ride, I think being able to reflect back on my time in Ireland and spend more time writing the blog posts will make my descriptions and information more detailed and accurate.

I am greatly looking forward to sharing my adventures with you, so keep an eye out for blog posts and photos in the coming weeks!

All the best!

Life offers exciting moments, and I intend to capture them in words and images.

Whether it is adventures in the outdoors, or the warm and cozy atmospheres of coffee shops, I want to remember them.
